Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Introduction: Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) covers the generation, storage and use of power. A Degree in electrical and electronic engineering prepares you to work in the vast range of engineering sectors, including aerospace, automotive, energy, information technology and telecommunications. EEE is a very important part of everyday life. The study of EEE can involve large amounts of power (eg power and control engineering) and large devices (eg power stations and electric vehicles) or small amounts of power (eg computer, communications and information engineering) and small devices (eg MP3 players and cell phones).

Electrical and Electronic engineers are involved in the analysis of existing systems (whether electrical, electronic or computer systems) and they are often involved in creating and designing new products and systems for manufacturing industries.

But there is more to Electrical engineering than just that. Many advances in biomedicine were pioneered by electrical engineers, many software houses such as Microsoft employ electrical engineers and so do airplane manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus. Most astronomical observatories employ Electrical engineers to design their telescopes, other optical instruments and do advanced signal processing. Graduates from this department are doing these things.

Message from HOD:

Electrical & Electronics Engineering is an exciting and dynamic field that deals with the technology of electricity, especially the design and applications of circuitry and equipment for power generation and distribution, machine control and communications. Electrical and Electronics Engineer enjoys a high demand service status in modern manufacturing and industrial processes. The need to cater the ever-growing demand for trained professionals in the field has led to the establishment of the department in the institute. It imparts education in multifarious disciplines of Electrical, Electronics & Communication, and Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Machines etc. along with generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power.

The course curriculum combined with practical, produce fully competent professionals to face the challenges. The department encompasses a fine blend of renowned as well as young and dynamic faculties with a balanced mix from industry and academics.

Most of the faculties have excellent track records and is drawn from leading institutes like IITs/NITs and other reputed universities. The faculty takes active interest in research and development activities and sponsored research projects. The infrastructure and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide a good practical learning and innovative environment for students and researchers.
